2015 LHS Symphonic Band Camp

Middle School Band CampLHS Bands_clarinets
Band students from Lucille Erwin and Bill Reed Middle Schools will meet at LHS to experience a mini-version of a LHS’ symphonic band camp where the band students will work with a guest conductor, Mr. Kyle Freesen, director of the LHS Bands program, and principal players from the LHS Wind Symphony.  They will learn more complex passages, intricate rhythms and more involved phrasing in preparation for a short concert at the end of camp. Students and their parents will be treated to a spaghetti dinner by the Loveland High School Band Boosters prior to the free concert in the LHS auditorium. This is a great way for students to learn what to expect when they enter the high school’s band program.

High School Symphonic Camp
The LHS Symphonic Band Camp is a unique experience that allows our students to work with World Class conductors and clinicians in preparation for Colorado Bandmasters Association’s regional competition. It’s an opportunity that most high school students do not have and we’re fortunate to have the reputation that allows us to bring in high quality guest artists through-out the year.

Students audition for LHS’ Wind Symphony or symphonic bands.

The HS camp will feature two guest conductors, Mr. Gary Hall for Symphonic Band and Dr. David M. Booth for the Wind Symphony.  Mr. Hall is recently retired as Instrumental Music Instructor at Laramie County Community College and is a former Band Director at Loveland High School. Dr. Booth is a professor of music and Director of Bands at Wright State University.
