Overview:

Flickr is one of the premier photo sharing sites on the internet; it is easy to sign up for, gives its users plenty of space for picture storage, and makes it very easy to share photos among members and non-members. With these qualities in mind I have created a band Flickr group in the hopes that the many digital pictures those involved in the band program take can all be shared among those interested.

Tutorial to Join and Upload:

Joining Flickr is as easy as navigating to the the band Flickr page, then clicking on the "sign up" link, and following the instructions. You may need to create a Yahoo ID to join, then a Flickr Account. If you aren't interested in joining immediately, you can browse all the photos taken by band members by clicking on the "pool" link.

Once you have created your Flickr account, uploading photos is very easy. Once your signed in, go to the Loveland Band page and join the group by simply clicking on the link "Join this Group?" and confirm. Once your in the group, click on the Upload photos link on the homepage (flickr.com). Use the uploader tool to add your photo, once its finished you will need to tag your photo with a description of it. If you take multiple photos of one event (ie: Pomona Festival etc.) adding the pictures into a set would be a good idea. This is comparable to a photo album, and is an easy way to sort through the photos you took.

Now all you have to do is add your pictures to the Loveland Band Group, If you put your photos in a set, then go back to the homepage, click on the "organize" tab, then the "your sets" button. Click on the set you want to add, then the "batch edit" button. This will present several different options, one of which is "send to group." Click on that and select the Loveland Band group. This will add your pictures to our photo pool and make it easy for everyone else to see your pictures.

Congratulations! Everything should now be in order, and you will be able to upload all the photos you want to share with everyone. It should be noted that the band Flickr group is NOT intended to replace the in-house photo albums, but rather complement them. I will be selecting photos from here to incorporate into the regular photo albums, and if you do not want to participate in this, but still want to send me photos, I will accept them as usual at lhsbandwebmaster@hotmail.com.
